B&VIIT will conduct a comprehensive eye examination before determining if you are a suitable candidate for vision correction surgery. This examination consists of 15 steps and includes 60 different types of tests, lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours.

1. Precautions Before Reservation
The eligible age range for vision correction surgery is between 18 and 40 years.
A comprehensive eye examination and consultation are priced at 100,000 KRW and will be deducted from the total surgery cost if the surgery is performed later.
The Avellino DNA test costs 100,000 KRW and will be deducted from the surgery cost upon registration. This test is mandatory for laser eye surgery to evaluate the risk of potential postoperative complications.
For individuals who are pregnant, hormonal changes may affect the examination results; thus, this is recommended to schedule a consultation at least 3 months after childbirth.
Please note that the examination or surgery may not be permissible if you have any pre-existing eye conditions.
If you have any psychiatric conditions diabetes, heart disease, or brain disorders, kindly provide a medical certificate from your doctor indicating that your condition is stable in order to proceed with vision correction surgery.
2. Precautions before examination
Please stop wearing the lens before the examination as follows(time includes examination day):
Soft lens: 4 days
Soft lens for astigmatism: 6 days
Hard(RGP) lens: 10 days
Ortho-K lens: 1 month
The retinal examination will cause 3~4 hours of blurred vision so driving after the eye exam is prohibited.
3. Required time to stay after surgery
SMILE Pro / SMILE: 2 days
LASIK: 7 days
LASEK: 1 month
PIOL: 7 days
4. Schedule of Postoperative Check-up
SMILE Pro / SMILE: next day - 1 month - 6 months - 1 year
LASIK: next day - 1 month - 6 months - 1 year
LASEK(PRK): 4 days post op - 3~4 weeks - every month for 6 months
PIOL: next day - within 1 week - 3 weeks - 1 month - regular check-up required
Outpatient treatment costs 15,000 KRW on weekdays and 30,000 KRW on Saturdays from the second follow-up for each appointment.
For those who live overseas, we provide a medical certificate in English (costs 20,000 KRW) to see an ophthalmologist in their country.
